Pedro Pablo Ramírez Marín lost his right leg to a landmine on April 13, 1993. He was picking coffee in Trojes, Honduras when it happened. Pedro, like many other Hondurans, was helping to pick coffee during the harvest season in order to earn extra money. He says all he remembers is taking a step and then waking up in the hospital. Now Pablo is back in the coffee fields, working at the Buena Vista farm and cutting coffee to supplement his meager income as a farmer. He would like a grant to expand his own farm so he can grow vegetables and bring in more money for his family.
