Miguel Angel Alaniz was the head of an army troop during the Nicaraguan war. On September 23, 1988 he was leading his troop when he stepped on a landmine. Now Miguel is plagued by pieces of the mine that are still in his chest and back, and has to use a back orthotic to move. Miguel has a small coffee farm in Jinotega, Nicaragua. He lives with his wife and 4 children. He is asking for a loan to buy fertilizer and more coffee seeds so he can improve his farm. He is hoping that with this loan he can provide more for his children and one day buy his own house.
